Bellabox September 2014 Review

Bellabox just keeps getting better. If you aren’t already subscribing to this fantastic beauty box, you are really missing out. This is my honest opinion.

It’s quite amazing how Bellabox  is only S$19.95 yet can pack in so much into their cute turquoise polka dotted box.  It’s great for trying new things without having to spend big bucks to find what suits you.  There is always a sense of anticipation and excitement when I receive mine. My daughter also gets in on the action because she loves minis. (However her involvement is just to “admire” and not use – Daddy’s orders!) Increasingly, there are more and more full sized samples.  I also love how convenient it is to purchase stuff you love from the box – their beauty store has so many brands that its mind boggling!

The theme for September is Urban Vibes – cool, sophisticated and of course fun!

Young Living Essential Oils – Lavender and Lemon

I am a fan of Young Living and you can imagine by happiness at receiving these in my box this month! I use only Young Living essential oils because of their strict production standards to get only the purest plant essences. The result is therapeutic grade oils that do not contain artificial additives or perfumes.

My box contained Lavender and Lemon which are two of the most useful essential oils in my opinion.  They both have 101 uses. I use Lavender for almost everything – skin rash, cuts, burns, cramps, to remove smells, relaxation, etc etc. As for Lemon oil, I put one drop in my water to detox, for cooking, for removing stains, disinfecting my hands, the list goes on. And as you can imagine, the best never comes cheap but it’s worth it. Lavender retails at S$49.35 and Lemon S$23.68 for 15ml.

VDL Festival Lipstick (Love Mark) in 302 Marcus

I have passed by VDL a few times but never had a chance to spend time in the shop. Now I have the chance to try not 1 but 2 of their products! I received the perfect lipstick shade for my skintone in a rosy pink. The pigment is sharp, the texture creamy and non drying, encased in a sleek black casing. Korean cosmetics always hit the target. Retails for S$21.

VDL Lumilayer Primer

This came as a bonus together with a discount voucher. Korean brands are known for their bb and cc creams so I am not expecting less from their primers for that fresh, dewy Korean superstar look! The 30ml bottle is S$36.

Exuviance Urban Beauty Kit

This is a new brand to me so I was curious. Exuviance is by NeoStrata, known for their AHA lines. This beauty kit came with a 4 step skincare routine including a purifying and brightening cleanser, antioxidant serum, wrinkle repair and tone correcting fluid, all to reverse signs of aging! The Optilight Daily Prep (cleanser) is S$60 for 100g, the Antioxidant Perfect 10 Serum is S$108 for 30ml, the Targeted Wrinkle Repair is S$110 for 15ml and the Optilight Tone Corrector is S$90 for 30ml.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Original 6 Effects Serum

An award winning product, used by the top stylists, this serum helps to “repel humidity” and eliminate frizz while protecting from heat. Sounds perfect to help prevent flyaways and smooth my hair especially from daily blowdrying. 50ml is S$16.90

Megrhythm Steam Eye Mask

Japanese brands always have the cutest, niftiest inventions. No surprise that this eyemask is from Kao. Megrhythm is a big wellness brand in Japan and this eyemask is one of their best selling products. It’s a self warming mask for soothing and relaxing the eye area. Just put it on for 10 minutes and viola! Tired eyes be gone! A box of 5 masks is S$6.50. Affordable and cheery.

Collistar Anti Age Lifting Body Cream

This cream smells heavenly – somewhat sweet, light and luxe.  The texture is light and non sticky. Founded in 1983, Collistar is a leading Italian beauty brand. This cream is for lifting, firming and hydrating. Massage into body for best results. We all need that! 400ml retails for S$69.90

Dermadoctor KP Duty Dermatologist Formulated AHA Moisturizing Therapy

This hydrating AHA formula helps to “exfoliate, calm, and drench skin with moisture” for smooth and supple skin, particularly to tackle Keratosis Pilaris (KP). Contains glycolic acid and urea to exfoliate so be sure to use sunscreen afterwards for skin protection. Retails at 4 Oz for S$44.90

Hope you enjoyed reviewing the box as much as I did! Order your box or gift it to a loved one at Bellabox today! My review of the August and July boxes here and here! xoxo
